The Project. |

'Fuel for Reconciliation' is a multi-phase geothermal energy project located near Terrace, BC.
Given the size of the geothermal resource located under Kitselas First Nation's land, the resource will be developed incrementally in project phases. The first phase intends to provide industrial scale geothermal heating.
The project has been steadily progressing through exploration and planning stages. In 2020, 4 pilot core holes broadly confirmed the commercial viability of the geothermal reservoir. Additional Research & Development drilling of 3 core holes was completed in 2021.

Our customers.
Significant economic development is underway near Kitselas Geothermal's Permit Area.
Initially, Kitselas Geothermal intents to supply a large volume of medium temperature geothermal heat to anchor industrial customers located near, or in the Skeena Industrial Development Park and City of Terrace.
This is just the beginning, as subsequent phases could expand to service local communities as well as additional commercial and industrial areas with geothermal energy.

Project Impacts.
|
Clean Energy
The project will provide customers with renewable, locally-sourced, always available and emissions-free energy. Geothermal development will also reduce GHG emissions in the local airshed and contribute to CleanBC goals. Our project recognizes the importance of environmental stewardship for future generations of Indigenous peoples and communities.
Jobs and Economic Reconciliation
Investing in clean energy solutions is an opportunity to support energy security, reconciliation, self-determination and economic development for Indigenous Peoples. Providing low-cost, critical energy ensures long-term revenues for Kitselas First Nation. Fuel for Reconciliation will create opportunities for skills transfer from other natural resource industries and employ full-time workers, with additional workers required for development. Job creation is also anticipated at our energy customer sites, as they can confidently grow their businesses without exposure to volatile energy prices and carbon emission penalties.
